When the media meet on the tennis court
The Pulitzer Cup brings together people who, throughout the year, usually meet through the media, editorial offices and professional work. For a few days, however, microphones, cameras and newsroom desks give way to the tennis court.
The fifth edition of the tournament in 2023 once again brought together journalists and media representatives from different editorial teams through a shared sporting experience.
In the pleasant setting of the City Park in Banská Bystrica, the weekend brought numerous tennis matches, friendly encounters and moments that naturally went beyond the sporting results themselves.
SPORT × COMMUNITY
Sport can create space for encounters that might never happen under ordinary circumstances.
It was precisely this combination of movement, people, friendly competition and community that made supporting the Pulitzer Cup a natural fit for St. Martin Pharmacia.
ABOUT THE PULITZER CUP
A tennis tournament for people from the media world
The Pulitzer Cup is a nationwide tennis tournament for journalists and media representatives, combining a sporting programme with a social atmosphere and natural networking.
During the tournament weekend, participants compete in several tennis disciplines — from singles and doubles to mixed doubles — while the results of individual representatives also determine which editorial team takes home the main challenge trophy.
The Pulitzer Cup, however, is not only about results. Above all, it is an opportunity to meet media colleagues outside the work environment, reconnect with old contacts, build new friendships and spend a weekend together through sport.

FIFTH EDITION
A tournament that has created its own tradition
The fifth edition of the Pulitzer Cup confirmed that its essence is not only tennis, but also the community that has gradually formed around the event.
Journalists, presenters, editors and other people from the media world meet in an environment where the everyday work rhythm briefly gives way to movement, sporting rivalry and a shared experience.
Banská Bystrica once again provided a natural setting in 2023 for a weekend filled with many memorable matches, while friendships were strengthened and new shared memories were created.
ST. MARTIN PHARMACIA × PARTNERSHIP
Supporting sport, encounters and shared experiences
St. Martin Pharmacia was one of the main partners of the Pulitzer Cup 2023.
Supporting the event was a natural extension of our view of health as a broader way of life — one that includes movement, an active lifestyle, human relationships and community.
The Pulitzer Cup brought these elements together naturally. Throughout the weekend, sporting competition blended with a friendly atmosphere, conversations and encounters among people connected by the world of media.
EVENT ATMOSPHERE
More than just matches
In 2023, the Pulitzer Cup once again had the character of a weekend gathering in which tennis was only one part of the overall experience.
DJ René Parák, together with Renáta Renykara and partner Urpiner, kept the atmosphere lively throughout the weekend. The gastronomic part of the event was prepared by chefs Mišo and Roman.
It was precisely the combination of sport, a shared programme, good food and informal encounters that created an environment in which participants could take away much more than just a match result.
